Climate-economic modeling research opening (Milan, Italy)

EIEE is encouraging applications of junior/senior researchers interested in climate-economic modeling. We are looking to increase existing research capacity in integrated assessment modeling/agent based modeling. Model applications should focus on one or more of the following fields: economics of climate neutrality, integration of climate impacts, adaptation and mitigation, technological innovation, labour markets.

The ideal candidate for this position holds (or is close to completing) a PhD in computational economics, applied mathematics or operations research or related areas of research. Strong programming skills and experience are absolute requirements. Mid-career researchers are also encouraged to apply.

Duties will be carried out in Milan (Italy) in the vibrant design district (@ BASE). The selected candidate will interact with researchers of different research backgrounds and nationalities. She/he will focus on writing top-quality scientific papers, will be engaged in a global network and will have the chance to present at major conferences. Assignments are expected to begin from January 2022 onwards. The appointment period will be initially of one year, renewable for two additional years. The gross salary will be based on qualification and working experience and competitive with major research centres in Europe.
