Giacomo Falchetta is a Junior Scientist at the ECIP division of the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC). In parallel, he has a scientific affiliation with the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), in Vienna, Austria.

An Applied Energy and Environmental Economist by training, Giacomo is working on data-driven approaches for integrated energy-economy-environment analysis, with a specific focus on multi-level decisions (household, infrastructure, national and global policy) related to climate change impacts and adaptation, as well as to sustainable development challenges such as energy poverty and inequality, globally as well as with strong expertise in the African and European contexts. Previously, he worked as a Researcher at FEEM – Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei – whilst completing his PhD, awarded from the Department of International Economics, Institutions and Development at the Catholic University of Milan. He holds a MSc. In Environmental Economics and Climate Change from the London School of Economics, and a BSc. in Economics and Social Sciences from the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.

When not in front of his laptop, Giacomo is keen on all water sports, joining music jams, writing, and cooking.
