Debmallya Chanda

Debmallya Chanda is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the RFF-CMCC European Institute on Economics and the Environment (EIEE). His research focuses on macroeconomic modelling for climate and energy policy, with particular interest in digitalization, monetary-fiscal interactions, and the macro-financial dimensions of the low-carbon transition. At EIEE, he contributes to the development and application of the WITCH integrated assessment model, supporting quantitative analyses of climate-economy pathways.

Debmallya is completing his PhD in Economics from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Bielefeld University. He holds a Master’s degree in Quantitative Economics from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Before joining CMCC, he worked at the Deutsche Bundesbank and conducted research focusing on macroeconomic modelling related to the European energy transition. His work integrates computational macroeconomics and policy-oriented analysis.
