Luca Fontanelli

Luca Fontanelli is a Post-Doctoral researcher in Economics at the Department of Law of the University of Brescia under the supervision of Prof. Elena Verdolini.

He is currently involved in the ERC project 2D4D, which is aimed at investigating the relation between digitalization and climate change, the so-called twin transition.

He earned a joint PhD in Economics at University of Côte d'Azur in Nice (France) and Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pise (Italy) in 2022. During his doctoral studies, he worked under the supervision of Mauro Napoletano and Giovanni Dosi.

Before joining the University of Brescia, he worked as an intern and as a consultant at the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) department of the OECD in Paris (France), where he was part of the AI Diffuse team.

The main focus of his research relates to firm and industry dynamics, digitalisation and climate change. He predominantly work with theoretical models of firm dynamics and firm-level micro-data.
