Striving to align investment decisions to a 1,5°C trajectory: EU taxonomy and EU climate benchmarks

Presenter:
Sara Lovisolo, Group Sustainability Manager, London Stock Exchange Group

Moderator:
Massimo Tavoni, Director of RFF-CMCC EIEE and Full Professor at Politecnico di Milano

The Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance set up by the European Commission in June 2018 has worked on the technical details of two measures aimed at driving capital towards assets that significantly contribute to the transition to a low carbon economy. This webinar explores the use cases and construction methodologies of the EU Classifications Systems of Sustainable Activities – or “EU Taxonomy” – and the EU Paris-aligned and EU Climate Transition Benchmarks, based on the reports published by the TEG, with a view to understanding how finance can best incorporate climate science in its models and tools.
