EUCRA-2
European Climate Risk Assessment 2
General Objectives
The objective of EUCRA-2 is to deliver relevant and actionable climate risk information, evidence and knowledge to the EU-level policymakers, as well as to the Member States, transnational regions and city networks. On the one hand, this will help shape legislation, funding programmes and strategic planning; on the other hand, it will enable countries to benchmark their risk profiles against the European outlook and to coordinate adaptation actions for risks that cross borders or exceed national capacities. Building on the foundations of EUCRA-1, EUCRA-2 will refine and strengthen the existing methodological framework by addressing identified limitations and integrating the latest scientific advances.
CMCC role
As a partner of EUCRA-2, CMCC provides a pool of experts covering different fields of expertise relevant for carrying out the framework service contract. CMCC takes over the horizontal leadership of methodological development in task 1, methodological advisory and data integration among specific requests of services in collaboration with the partnership.
Expected Results
- EU-wide climate risks methodological report scheduled for publication in 2028;
- Targeted outputs of EUCRA-2 findings developed for specific EC DGs (e.g. technical briefs or interactive products)
- Stakeholder consultation rounds and hands-on support to communication activities.
